Comfort-food breakfast and a proper coffee bar. The patio is the town's unofficial morning meeting room.
Your Danville week, from someone who grew up just over the hill in Blackhawk. Here's where I'd be, and what I'd skip.
Midday means Hartz Avenue on foot. Natives go to:
Fall is the best-kept secret on this side of the hill. The heat finally breaks, the hills go gold, and downtown fills up with scarecrows. If you're new here, or just thinking about it, this is the week to come see the town at its most charming.
The Danville Farmers' Market runs every Saturday, 9 to 1, in the Railroad Avenue lot at Prospect. This time of year it's apples, persimmons, squash and the first citrus. Go before 10 if you want parking and the good bread. Leave the dog home: pets aren't allowed unless they're service animals.
Then do what locals do: grab a croissant at Maison Benoit on Railroad, coffee in hand, and wander Hartz Avenue before the lunch crowd.
The Town's Scarecrow Stroll wraps up November 1. Downtown shops dress up a Town-provided scarecrow, you walk the route with the map, and you vote for your favorite. It's the easiest way to discover the boutique you've driven past a hundred times.
The Chamber's Fall Hallo-Wine is on the Town's 2026 events calendar for October 28. Think costumes optional, wine very much included, and a reason to walk downtown on a weeknight. Check the Danville Area Chamber for tickets and pour locations.
Patio season is almost over, so use it. Locanda Ravello on Prospect for a long Italian dinner, or the biergarten at Canyon Club Brewery out at the Livery, where the firepits make a cold night feel intentional.
Where I actually go. Browse the cards, explore the map, or swipe through like you're picking a date.

An actual Parisian-run patisserie near Lunardi's. Get the flavored croissants and sit outside like you're in France.
The venerable Danville deli. Order ahead at lunch; the line is real for a reason.
The Danville classic for anniversaries and parents in town. Yes, the one from Mrs. Doubtfire.
Long Italian dinners on the patio. Book on weekends.
Biergarten with heat lamps, firepits and live music. My pick for a cool fall night.
Paved, flat and connects downtown to San Ramon and Alamo. Morning runs, bike rides, stroller laps.
Drive the summit road on a clear morning and you'll see half of Northern California.
The whole point of Danville: boutiques, galleries and patios on one walkable stretch.
Saturdays 9 to 1, year-round, rain or shine. No dogs unless they're service animals.
Classic cars and rotating exhibits. A rainy-day lifesaver.
The playwright's hillside home is a national historic site most residents have never visited. Reserve the shuttle ahead.
Native secret: the creek, waterfalls and ducks make it the best evening stroll on the east side.
